Yogendra (Mohan Babu) is the son of Panduranga Rao (Vijayakumar), a High Court judge who got first rank in civil services examinations. Dunnapothula Janardhan Rao (Narra Venkateswara Rao), a politician, falsely implicates Yogi in a murder case to take revenge on Panduranga, who had earlier given a jail sentence to him in a corruption case. Panduranga gives the judgment to his Yogi by jailing him for six years. After six years, Janardhan dies on the day Yogi is released from jail. Dunnapothula Dharma Rao (Mukesh Rishi), Janardhan's son, visits the shores of Godavari River to leave the ashes. Yogi foils the rites by resisting, then Dharma challenges Yogi that he is going to mix his father's ashes in the Godavari before Yogi mixes the ashes of his father, who is still alive, one day. Meanwhile, Yogi falls in love with a beautiful girl Anuradha (Preeti Jhangiani), the strong-willed and independent-minded daughter of Kasi Visweswara Rao (Raghunatha Reddy), Dharma's henchman. Suddenly, there is an appearance of Thulasi (Seema), who claims to be Panduranga's daughter. Panduranga refuses the claim and banishes her. Forced by circumstances and at the instigation and help of Dharma, she comes out open with the parentage claim. Yogi thrashes the protesters, but upon knowing the truth from his uncle Gnaneswara Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao), he accepts the task of her protection in the capacity as an elder brother. Yogi decides to marry Thulasi to his good friend (Brahmaji), and he also prods his father to acknowledge the parentage of Thulasi. Panduranga confesses to Thulasi. The next morning when Yogi returns home, Thulasi is found dead. Panduranga is accused of murdering her. However, the whole act was planned by Dharma. After killing Thulasi, he forced Satya Murthy (Suthi Velu), Panduranga's servant, to testify against Panduranga in court. In court, Jagan (Nagarjuna Akkineni), a close friend of Yogi and famous leading criminal lawyer, appears as the defense council by canceling his marriage with his girlfriend (Soundarya) and wins the case to lay bare the murder plot and hidden intentions of the baddies. Finally, Panduranga is judged innocent of the crime. After that, Yogi returns to his father, who shows remorse for all his actions, including not believing in his son's innocence, and he dies at his feet. At Panduranga s funeral, Dharma arrives to poke fun at Yogi and carry out the postponed last rituals of his own father. Raju (Suresh) is a taxi driver cum tourist guide down on his luck. Nandini (Meena), a tourist with mental retardation makes her presence in Tirupati and meets Raju, then a series of events are intertwined with the lives of Raju and his friend Nethranandham (Chinna). In the early part of the movie, hilarity ensues in their misguided attempts in getting rid of Nandini. However, Raju and his friend (Chinna) happen to know that she is an escaped mental patient who has a bounty on her safe return. When they find that the bounty has been increasing for a while, they decide to hide Nandini for a while and surrender her to claim the bounty when it gets big enough. They also change her appearance by cutting her long hair short. Nandini reveals her true story to Raju that she was born to her unknown mother and retired Justice Pundarikam (Kaikala Satyanarayana) but is brought up in orphanage. She used to call Justice (Kaikala Satyanarayana) who used to visit her in orphanage as "Sweet Man" unaware of the fact that he was her father. After knowing the fact that he was her father, she obtains the address of her father from her warden and goes to see her father. In the absence of her father, she was drugged and sent to mental asylum by Pundarikam's sons and daughters-in-law. She managed to escape from the asylum and that is how she met Raju. Raju promises to help Nandini and appoints her as housemaid in her father's home. In time, they realize that things are not as they seem, and more complications are unraveled. more»

They are poor and his mother has to mortgage her house in the village in order to send Kamal to the city for further education. She expects him to pay off the mortgage once he gets a job. Kamal gets a job and returns to the village with a wife Mona (Shyama), who is considered too modern for the village. When Kamal returns to the city, he stops sending money to his family. The mother and daughter leave for the city when they are informed that Kamal is not well. They are treated badly by Mona, who with her spendthrift habits gets into arguments with Kamal. When Kamal leaves for a job outside the city, Mona has Shanta and Sharda thrown out of the house.\n\nWandering on the streets, Shanta and Sharda collide with Kumar's (Manoj Kumar) car, who takes them to his home. Kamal is an employee of Kumar, but the fact is unknown to mother and daughter. Kumar and Sharda start liking each other and he insists that they stay at his place till the mother recovers. When Kamal returns home, he is upset to see his mother and sister missing. He leaves some money he is carrying for his employer with Mona, and goes off to the village to look for them, but is unable to find them. Mona spends three-fourths of the money Kamal had left in her care, and he has to find a way to return the money. Finally, Kamal unites with his mother and sister; Mona has learned her lesson from her errant ways, and Kumar and Sharda get married.\n\nThere is a sub-plot in the form of Kamal and Mona's neighbours; one is Sunder (Mehmood) and his wife Geeta (Savitri), who is shown as the traditional wife in comparison to Mona. Ugrasena Maharaja (Gummadi) is king of Malava, he has a daughter Rupa. According to astrologer's prediction, Rupa will marry an ordinary person. Ugrasena wants to change the gods wish and starts doing penance. King sends the wise people to bring the probable boy Chandrasena who is going to marry his daughter and order to kill him. Soldiers take the boy to the forest but due to the divine grace boy escapes death. The boy's mother Annapurna (Malathi) also reaches the forest both of them get shelter in a saint's Ashram. Years roll by, Chandrasena (N. T. Rama Rao) grows up with and qualifies in all fields. Ugrasena is in a happy feeling that he has killed the boy. One day grown up Rupa (Jayasri) goes to the forest for hunting where she meets Chandrasena and both love each other. Ugrasena announces sports competition in the capital where Chandrasena wins and king honors him. Rupa meets him in her palace and Chandrasena gets caught by soldiers. Chandrasena's mother pleads king to excuse his son but in vain. Ugrasena now realizes that Chandrasena is none other than the boy whom he thought died. Ugrasena orders to put Chandrasena in a cellar where demons are there. Chandrasena kills the demon and reaches Rupa. While they are escaping soldiers chase them and they enter into a deadly house from where no one will come back. Hence the soldiers return and inform the king about this. King announces that the person who brings his daughter back will get a huge sum of gold. Takku (Relangi) & Tikku (Ramana Reddy) start to bring princess after hearing the announcement. In that death house, Rupa is caught by an enchanter (Shobhan Babu) and takes her to their Queen Gandharva Rani (Mohana). She orders Chandrasena to bring the musical tree from Chambala Island ruled by wizard Kanakaksha (Mukkamala) to get back Rupa. After a lot of effort Chandrasena reaches the Island where Kanakaksha's daughter Champa (Girija) falls in love with Chandrasena. He gets her into his trap, achieves the musical tree and relives Rupa. Meanwhile, Kanakaksha makes Chandrasena as garland and takes him back. Rupa with no help is caught by Takku and Tikku. Kanakaksha orders Chandrasena to marry his daughter Champa but he denies. So, he keeps him in prison and starts torturing. Rupa somehow escapes from Takku & Tikku and goes back to death house sits on the musical tree and reaches Chamba Island. With Rupa's help, Chandrasena escapes from prison eliminates Kanakaksha and blasts the island. Both of them reach back to Malava kingdom when Ugrasena also understands that no one can change the fortune and agrees to their marriage.
