Laxmikant Kabadiya aka LK (Anupam Kher) is one of India's richest industrialists. His conglomerate is on the verge of a 5000 crore IPO that should make them one of the largest companies in the country. LK's family can't stop salivating at the thought of all that money. Unfortunately for all of them on the night before the IPO opens, LK dies. The family is distraught and horrified as now no one will buy their shares. So, on the advice of their family guru, the family decides to hide the death of LK for a period of two days until the shares are all sold out. However, to make matters worse, every time they're ready to announce LK's death, fate intervenes forcing them to keep his death hidden for another couple of days. The film tells the story of chartered accountant Vikram (Shawar Ali) and his keep Soniya (Meera) who are waiting for another accountant Muqaadam (Rashid Khan) to deliver 5 crores hard cash at their farmhouse. A journalist is shot to death at the doorstep of Shanti, also a journalist, who swears to bring the culprit Vishtar Nath to book. She subsequently files a report at the local police station following which her house is searched and drugs are found. She is arrested but later released after an honest police inspector Vikram Singh, learns that the drugs were planted in her house by a police constable. One night Shanti is molested but is saved in the nick of time by a young man Shankar.
