Major Yamraj Singh and Professor Durander Lal have been friends for many years, live as neighbors, share meals, and would like their respective children, Raja and Rani to get married. At a well organized reception, they do announce their official engagement, little knowing that both dislike each other. While Rani is not decided about her future partner, Raja likes Manjit Singh, the daughter of Dildar Singh, who owns a transport business. Then their lives are turned upside down when Yamraj becomes a suspect for the police for allegedly selling drugs and firearms. He is held in prison, and Durander refuses to assist him in any way. The one who comes to Yamraj's rescue is Dildar, who arranges for his bail. Raja and Rani then find that they do like each other, but now their dads will not permit them to see each other, leave alone marry. They must find out what Yamraj's involvement is that has brought him under the scrutiny of the police, and if not, who is behind the conspiracy of framing him.

Prabha (Aadhi) is the elder son of the family and he does nothing but spending all his time with his friends. He is chided by his father for that. Being a volleyball player comes to his rescue as he finds a part-time job as a volleyball coach in a women's college. His younger brother works in a television channel and Prabha is often compared to him by the family, which incurs his wrath. The siblings cross swords with each other. One day the younger brother is killed and the blame falls on Prabhu. He is on the run and soon joins a goonda working as a henchman to an influential politician (Mahadevan). Prabha goes on a killing spree killing one after another in the gang. Finally a flashback reveals that they were the reason for his brother's death.

Simbhu shares his name with two other people - one villain and one ex-cop turned thug. Simbhu's grandmother- Seema, has slayed five men, since they flouted her father's advices and distilled alcohol illegally in the village also involving in other shady activities. The villagers, for her noble act, consider her their head after her return from the prison. However, trouble crops up in the name of a police officer , Lal , whose ego is hurt when challenged by the fellow policeman's son that he can't find anything illicit in Simbhu's village, ruled by the godmother Seema. Lal tries - but to no avail - to nail somebody from the village for any charges and ends being thrashed up the villagers. Predictably, he returns with a vengeance and in the dirty war, burns Seema alive. Simbhu now seeks retribution for his loss.
