On the auspicious day of Dusshera, a London based guy, Takila (Rajesh Parasher) lands in Chandigarh to marry an Indian girl. He enters his chacha's (Chander Mohan Parasher) house, & instead of meeting his would-be-bride girl Maya (Faguni Verma), a Punjabi girl, he gets caught in the web of an income tax raid. Income tax Deputy Director Mr. Pappi Sharma (Perry) makes Takila his witness in the raid - an Income tax officer, Ms. Mishti (Iti Mahajan), a Bengali girl, notices that Maya has not come yet, so she starts trying to impress Takila in order to settle in London.Meanwhile, another girl named Hetal (Aarti Dhariwal), a Gujrati girl, who teaches dandiya to Chachi (Ramniq Sandhu), starts cajoling Takila, as she also wants to settle down abroad. On the other hand, Pappi continuously troubles Takila as he is now a witness in this raid. Raja hadn't been to college for days, leaving very little time for preparation. Kajol gets anxious to make her father happy and finally skips class to find Raja, who is helping his father (Moti Seth) in his restaurant. She manages to find him, convince him and they go on to win the competition. Post the competition, as college breaks for holidays, Raja and Kajol begin to realise the emptiness in each other's life. Aravindan(Nedumudi Venu) is an assistant manager in a tea plantation in Munnar. He lives with his wife Janu (Saritha) and three daughters. They follow a happy life until he comes to know that he is affected by lung cancer. The doctor suggests him to move to Tata Institute for further treatment. He informs Mammukka (Thilakan) about the same and leaves for Bombay lying to his family that he has been promoted to a manager. Meanwhile, Dr. Surendran(Mammootty) shifts to Munnar as the family's new neighbor. The youngest daughter of the family, Rajani (Meena) acquaints with him and introduces him to her mother. The flashback shows a romantic relationship between Surendran and Janu where their marriage was fixed. Surendran meets with an accident and becomes impotent. He convinces Janu to leave him and marry someone else. The present life shows how Surendran becomes closer to the family. Rajini suffers from a heart problem and Dr. Surendran becomes a helping hand for the treatment. Aravindan's health worsens in Bombay and he asks Mammukka to inform his wife about his ill health. Aravindan has a helping hand called Shankhu (T.G. Ravi) in the hospital. Aravindan dies in the presence of Janu in the hospital. Shankhu threatens Janu about informing the kids about their father's death which could cause Rajini, the girl with the weak heart to die. Janu comes back to Munnar and pretends that Aravindan is recovering and does not tell her kids about the death. Shankhu visits her now and again blackmailing for gold and money. As the last sort, he takes away Janu's marital gold chain and threatens to return it back only if he is given ten thousand rupees. Surendran knowing all truth about Janu comes to her rescue and beats up Shankhu. He surrenders to the police saying that he murdered Shankhu. Hearing the news Rajini becomes unconscious. The court leaves Surendran on bail to operate Rajani. After he returns, he is been sent out jail as the police receive a complain that Surendran is innocent. Janu confesses to the CBI, who is now handling the case, that she had murdered Shankhu. She had done so because Shankhu had tried to rape her and to save herself she does so. Police arrest her, but the court leaves her considering her circumstances for the crime. The movie ends on a happy note. more»

The story begins with Mangalasherry Neelakantan's (Mohanlal) son Karthikeyan (Mohanlal), as he ventures out to make money which ultimately makes him a liquor baron. The relationship between Neelakantan and Karthikeyan deteriorates, as the father does not approve of his son's money-making methods. Mundakkal Shekharan (Napoleon) comes into the picture again after spending a term in prison for killing one of Neelakantan's friends. He decides to finish the Mangalasherry family by confiscating the house which was kept as collateral for Bhanumathi's (Revathy) treatment. Bhanumathi passes away and Karthikeyan is now bent on taking revenge.\nNeelakantan loses his home and Karthikeyan ventures out in an attempt to reclaim his ancestral home. In the meantime, Karthikeyan abducts Shekharan's daughter Janaki (Vasundhara Das) in an attempt to blackmail him (Shekharan), during which they fall in love with each other. The remainder of the movie is about how Karthikeyan manages to get his ancestral home back while Shekharan's nephew Mundakkal Rajendran (Vijayaraghavan) makes attempts to kill Karthikeyan, but instead kills Neelakantan by lighting him on fire and gets killed by Neelakantan after a knife throw which decapitates Rajendran. Karthikeyan, now infuriated, goes to kill Shekaran by burning him. But Warrier stops him and brings him back. Kunjoonjamma Thomas (Padmini) is a widow living in the village all by herself. People always make fun of her because she is grumpy and depressed due to the deaths of her husband and her only child. Children irritate her by ringing her door bell and running away. One day, her granddaughter Girly (Nadhiya Moidu), who she had never met, visits her. Initially, Kunjoonjamma does not like Girly, but they soon become close to each other. Kunjoonjamma takes down the door bell, saying to Girly that its only purpose was for Girly's return. Now that Girly is with her, she does not need it. Kunjoonjamma's neighbor, Sreekumar (Mohanlal), falls in love with Girly. One day, Sreekumar's friend, Alexi (Fazil), comes to his house and sees Girly. He identifies her as a girl missing from Delhi, and immediately informs her father (K. P. Ummer) about her whereabouts. Girly had run away from Delhi because she had a brain disease and does not have much time to live. She wanted to enjoy the rest of her life. When her father comes to take her back to Delhi for an urgent operation, she refuses to go, claiming that even the doctors are not sure whether the operation will be successful. Her grandmother mixes sleeping pills in soup and gives it to Girly, and her father takes her to Delhi while she is unconscious. The movie ends with the ambulance slowly fading away into the darkness.
