Laxmikant Kabadiya aka LK (Anupam Kher) is one of India's richest industrialists. His conglomerate is on the verge of a 5000 crore IPO that should make them one of the largest companies in the country. LK's family can't stop salivating at the thought of all that money. Unfortunately for all of them on the night before the IPO opens, LK dies. The family is distraught and horrified as now no one will buy their shares. So, on the advice of their family guru, the family decides to hide the death of LK for a period of two days until the shares are all sold out. However, to make matters worse, every time they're ready to announce LK's death, fate intervenes forcing them to keep his death hidden for another couple of days. Hadbahedi, a small but beautiful town, is forward looking but honest. It competes for resources and recognition with a neighbouring corrupt town, Triphala. Hadbahedians believe that they have been totally neglected by the state and seek an identity. They are lead in this endeavor, by Arun, the local newspaper's proprietor. Things brighten when they discover that the celebrated film star Rishi Kapoor was actually born in their village 55 years back. A grand welcome follows. Chintu arrives with Devika Malhotra, his young and dynamic PR agent. He is a nuisance at Hadbahedi and treats the innocent people of Hadbahedi with contempt. Arun and Devika get along well, their romance blossoming, while ruthless Chintu is falling prey to the tempting monetary and political offer made by Triphala. The town by now has started getting the media and government's attention due to Chintu's stay in Hadbahedi. Chintu with the tempting offer from Triphala, on one side, and Arun-Devika with the townsfolk on the other are at the middle of a see-saw climax, while concurrently, Arun's past unfolds. more»

The story revolves around Manikyan (Mohanlal), Sreekrishnan(Nedumudi Venu) and Karthumbi (Shobana) and the love triangle between them. Manikyan works for Sreekrishnan and Sreekrishnan sees him like a brother. Once when they both are returning from a Mela after shopping, Sreekrishnan sees Karthumbi and gets attracted. But then a fight erupts there and they all have to flee. Sreekrishnan flees alone while Manikyan has to take Karthumbi with him. At night, he flees in the opposite direction and so loses his way. Karthumbi knows the way back but she pretends as if she does not know it and enjoys the fun. Manikyan has to struggle to get out of that place. During that time they fall in love.Once they are back in Manikyan's village, Sreekrishnan proposes her and plans to get married to her. Manikyan can not resist because Sreekrishnan is like an elder brother to him. But Karthumbi opposes. When Sreekrishnan gets to know about this, he gets angry and Manikyan becomes his enemy and he tries to take revenge. Venkat (Prabhas) meets Shailaja (Trisha) on a train journey and they immediately get attracted to each other after dancing in a rain shower. At the same time, Shailaja catches the eye of Bhadranna (Gopichand), a gangster who also becomes infatuated with her. Venkat keeps bumping into Sailaja coincidentally every time it rains and they fall in love. Ranga Rao (Prakash Raj), Sailaja's dad, is a typical black sheep with all kinds of bad habits. Bhadranna approaches him with the marriage proposal and Ranga Rao jumps on that and immediately agrees. Later, a film producer approaches him with an offer for Shailaja to act in a movie. Ranga Rao thinks that acting in films would be more lucrative than marrying her off to Bhadranna. He first successfully creates clashes between lovers and convinces Shailaja to act in a movie and leaves with her to the city. Venkat also leaves for Vizag to his uncle's place. Infuriated Bhadranna kidnaps Shailaja from a shooting spot and tries to change her mind about marrying him. Movie producer gets tensed as the shooting was paused and Ranga Rao advises him to approach Venkat as he believes Venkat still loves Shailaja. Venkat agrees and fights with Bhadranna for Shailaja. Gradually Shailaja comes to know that she misunderstood Venkat and apologizes. They reconcile happily and defeat Bhadranna. more»

Ballettan is the story of Athaniparampil Balachandran (Mohanlal) who is known for his service in the society. His father (Nedumudi Venu) is a retired postmaster. He lives with his wife Radhika (Devayani) and two children. Circumstances turn him into a debtor and he is arrested in a cheating case, but he manages to solve all those problems with his father's pension money. One day a stranger (Riyaz khan) comes to meet Balachandran. He introduces himself as Bhadran and asks his help for marrying his sister. Balachandran gets angry and this leads to violence in the house. His father asks him to leave the house. On the next day, while travelling in a bus, his father has a heart attack and is admitted to hospital. Later he calls Balachandran and reveals that he has another family. Balachandran, on hearing this shocking fact, stands shock stricken, unable to accept his father's words while his father suffers another heart attack which leads to his death. On his death bed he asks Balachandran to take care of his second family and also requests that his mother should never come to know about this. Raja hadn't been to college for days, leaving very little time for preparation. Kajol gets anxious to make her father happy and finally skips class to find Raja, who is helping his father (Moti Seth) in his restaurant. She manages to find him, convince him and they go on to win the competition. Post the competition, as college breaks for holidays, Raja and Kajol begin to realise the emptiness in each other's life. Aravindan(Nedumudi Venu) is an assistant manager in a tea plantation in Munnar. He lives with his wife Janu (Saritha) and three daughters. They follow a happy life until he comes to know that he is affected by lung cancer. The doctor suggests him to move to Tata Institute for further treatment. He informs Mammukka (Thilakan) about the same and leaves for Bombay lying to his family that he has been promoted to a manager. Meanwhile, Dr. Surendran(Mammootty) shifts to Munnar as the family's new neighbor. The youngest daughter of the family, Rajani (Meena) acquaints with him and introduces him to her mother. The flashback shows a romantic relationship between Surendran and Janu where their marriage was fixed. Surendran meets with an accident and becomes impotent. He convinces Janu to leave him and marry someone else. The present life shows how Surendran becomes closer to the family. Rajini suffers from a heart problem and Dr. Surendran becomes a helping hand for the treatment. Aravindan's health worsens in Bombay and he asks Mammukka to inform his wife about his ill health. Aravindan has a helping hand called Shankhu (T.G. Ravi) in the hospital. Aravindan dies in the presence of Janu in the hospital. Shankhu threatens Janu about informing the kids about their father's death which could cause Rajini, the girl with the weak heart to die. Janu comes back to Munnar and pretends that Aravindan is recovering and does not tell her kids about the death. Shankhu visits her now and again blackmailing for gold and money. As the last sort, he takes away Janu's marital gold chain and threatens to return it back only if he is given ten thousand rupees. Surendran knowing all truth about Janu comes to her rescue and beats up Shankhu. He surrenders to the police saying that he murdered Shankhu. Hearing the news Rajini becomes unconscious. The court leaves Surendran on bail to operate Rajani. After he returns, he is been sent out jail as the police receive a complain that Surendran is innocent. Janu confesses to the CBI, who is now handling the case, that she had murdered Shankhu. She had done so because Shankhu had tried to rape her and to save herself she does so. Police arrest her, but the court leaves her considering her circumstances for the crime. The movie ends on a happy note. more»
